The Colour of Chemistry Part II

Yesterday one of the PhD students was having a bit of fun iodinating with Iodine monochloride. D!

  1. A reddish pink colour also forms in Mitsunobu reaction due to the presence of DEAD in the reaction mixture.

  2. I use a bit of ICl for iodinating arenes, and it always appears dark browish-red like iodine. What is the solvent?
